Multicultural Resources

Many of the literature sites below include multicultural aspects of young adult literature. Below are some specific sites:

Coretta Scott King Award
This award is intended "to encourage the artistic expression of the African American experience via litererature and the graphic arts, including biogaphical, historical, and social history treatments by African American authors and illustrators."
Mildred L. Batchelder Award
The Mildred A. Batchelder Award is given to an outstanding book written in another language and translated to English.
Pura Belpre Award
This award is given to a latino/latina writer or illustrator for an outstanding work of literature that celebrates the Latino cultural experience.
