Awards

The University Library's Educational Materials Center (EMC) has all Caldecott and Newbery Award winning books in the Juvenile or the Young Adult Collection, and many of the honor books. Search the Stout Library Catalog to identify the titles; search for "book award" and limit results to the EMC.

Alex Awards
Award given by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) to ten books written for adults that appeal to young adults ages 12-18.
Coretta Scott King Award
This award is intended "to encourage the artistic expression of the African American experience via litererature and the graphic arts, including biogaphical, historical, and social history treatments by African American authors and illustrators."
Margaret A. Edwards Award
Honors the author of a book that has made a significant contribution to the field of young adult literature.
Michael L. Printz Award
Award for a book that exemplifies literary excellence for young adult literature.
Outstanding Science Trade Books for Students K-12
The best children and young adult books about science, as chosen by the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA).
