Linking to Articles & Films in Canvas

I found a streaming video I want to link to, where is the permanent link I need?

Academic Video Online (Alexander Street Press) Video

For Academic Video Online (Alexander Street Press) videos:

Click Share, then click the Copy button next to permalink link. This link will direct students to the video from on and off campus. If you wish to embed the video directly into your Canvas course, click on the Copy button next to embed code link.

Films on Demand Video

For Films on Demand videos:

Click Share underneath the video. Then the Embed/Link tab.

Copy and paste the Record URL link into your Canvas course. This link will direct students to the video from on and off campus.

You can also copy and paste the LTI link to embed the video into Canvas.

Kanopy Videos

For Kanopy videos:

Click Share, then the Copy Link button. This link will direct students to the video from on and off campus.

Swank Digital Campus Videos

For Swank Digital Campus videos:

Underneath the video, click Share and then Copy Direct Link. Copy and paste the Direct Link URL into your Canvas course. This link will direct students to the article from on and off campus.

  • Do not copy and paste the URL in your browser's web address bar unless directed to do so in the information presented on this page.
