Biographical Facts About Katherine P. Frank

  • B.A. (1994) in English from Bates College
  • M.A. (1996) and Ph.D. (2001) in English from the University of Washington
  • Chair of English and Foreign Languages at Colorado State University-Pueblo, 2008-2011
  • Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at Indiana University East, 2011-2014
  • Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Northern Kentucky University, 2014-2016
  • Provost, Vice President of Academic and Student Life, and then Vice President of Academic Innovation at Central Washington University, 2016-2020
  • Research interests include Romantic and Victorian English Literature, rhetoric and composition, the scholarship of teaching, and academic leadership
  • Library Board Member – Pueblo, Colorado
  • Creator and Host of the Career Pathways series on WETV Richmond, Indiana
  • Rotary Club and Philanthropic Educational Organization Member in multiple locations

Campus Milestones During the Frank Administration (To Date)

  • Stout initiates sustainability projects including a fuel conversion in the heating plant, installation of solar panels on the Price Commons rooftop, and chemical free weed mitigation
  • Construction of additional solar panels, envelope weatherization, and destratification fans is scheduled for 2023-2024
  • University successfully shifts to virtual communication during COVID-19 closures and restrictions with streaming versions of campus events, meetings, presentations, student expositions, and musical performances
  • Stout introduces an e-sports league for intercollegiate competition
  • $9 million dollar renovation on Bowman Hall is completed, including refurbishment of the clocktower, exterior brickwork, and electrical infrastructure. The project received an Excellence in Masonry Award from the Wisconsin Masonry Alliance
  • Stout’s Street Art and Graffiti students complete a mural celebrating the program legacies of the Applied Arts building
  • Stout creates a new unit of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and names its first Assistant Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • All-time high in scholarship giving through Stout Foundation
  • FOCUS2030 10-year strategic plan and revision of Mission Statement
  • Newly imagined Executive Director of Corporate Relations and Economic Engagement
  • Heritage Hall renovation proposal ranked #1 priority in the Chippewa Valley by UW System Board of Regents
  • Extensive brand audit that has led to a new mark for the university
