Computer Use Policy

The Library provides public access to computers in accordance with University policy: Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources.

Stout community members can use the community library computer.

Library computers are made available to support research. Individuals using computers for non-research related e-mail, chat or games may be asked to relinquish the computer.

Printing

All public computers print to the multi-function device (printer) in the lobby on first floor.

Payment is only with UW Stout Flexline or Baseline plus. Cash can be added or a visitor card purchased at the Value Transfer Station located on the blue column in Room 102.

  • Black and white - cost 10 cents per page
  • Color - cost 20 cents per page

Two computers on first floor have SOLIDWORKS installed.

Group Study Rooms

First floor: 108, 109, 110, 111B, 112, 113

Second floor: 220D, EMC open area

Fourth floor: 402, 403, 430E

Fifth floor: 502, 503

All group study rooms have a large TV screen and AirMedia screen sharing capability. Directions to connect are posted in each room.

The EMC open area on second floor has a wireless video projector in the ceiling. The remote can be checked out at the first floor circulation desk.

First floor open area (room 102): 5 computers, 1 community use computer, 1 laptop station (monitor, keyboard, mouse, power strip), 1 scanner in lobby (saves to flash drive or OneDrive), 6 study booths with screen sharing

First floor (room 106): Gaming and Digital Innovation (GDI) Lab

Fifth floor: 1 computer

Equipment is available for checkout at the circulation desk.
