Library Liaison Service: Library Liaison Service

Library Liaison Service

Introducing the Library Liaison Service

August 2025

The University Library is pleased to announce the launch of our Library Liaison Service, designed to strengthen academic support across campus.

Each academic department now has a dedicated librarian liaison who serves as a primary point of contact for all library-related needs. Liaisons offer personalized support to both faculty and students, helping to connect academic programs with the full range of library services and resources.

Library liaisons can assist with:

  • Supporting student research and experiential learning
  • Providing research consultations and tailored instruction
  • Embedding library guides or resources into Canvas
  • Collaborating on collection development to align with curriculum

This service directly supports FOCUS 2030’s priorities, including:

  • Student Success – by ensuring equitable access to academic resources and support
  • Employee Success – Faculty and instructors receive personalized support for teaching, research, and scholarly publishing, contributing to a culture of professional growth and innovation.
  • Identity – The liaison model reinforces UW–Stout’s polytechnic identity by embedding librarians into the academic fabric of each discipline. Liaisons help students and faculty navigate complex information landscapes, apply research skills in real-world contexts, and engage with interdisciplinary resources.

We encourage all members of the campus community to connect with their department’s liaison librarian and refer others who may benefit from these services.
