Woman listening and smiling

Welcome to UW-Stout, we're happy you're here!

This guide was created by the University Library and UW-Stout Graduate School to introduce you to the library, and guide you through the graduate research paper writing process. Use the menu at the left to navigate through the steps.

You aren't alone! Ask-a-Librarian or contact the Graduate School.

Borrowing Books, Articles, and Textbooks

Illiad Login | FAQ | Textbooks

Full service access to items held by the University Library and a global network of more than 70,000 lending libraries and commercial document vendors. Once you've found an item, click Interlibrary Loan to request that it be emailed (articles) or mailed to you (books). We will ship you items for free, but you are responsible for paying to ship them back. For borrowing physical textbooks please see our Textbooks page for more information.

Renewals

You can view and renew UW-Stout resources through your Search@UW account. Renew items from other libraries through your Interlibrary Loan ILLiad account.

Overdues

There are no fines for returning items late, but your courtesy with returning items on time is appreciated.  Keeping library resources beyond the due date prevents others from accessing that information. If an item is extremely overdue then an item replacement cost will be added to your account. That replacement cost is removed when the item is returned.

Request a digital chapter from a print Stout library book

Our Request a Chapter service allows graduate students to request digitized chapters of available physical library books. Submit your request in Search@UW, and we'll deliver the digitized chapters directly to your email.
