Awards
The University Library's Educational Materials Center (EMC) has all Caldecott and Newbery Award winning books in the Juvenile or the Young Adult Collection, and many of the honor books. Search the Stout Library Catalog for "book award" and limit results to the EMC to identify the titles. If you are off-campus, and need to have a book sent to you, fill out the form here.

- Caldecott Medal"The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott. - John Newberry Medal"The Newbery Medal was named for eighteenth-century British bookseller John Newbery. It is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children."
- Notable Social Studies Books for Young People"Books selected for this bibliography are written primarily for children in grades K-8. The selection committee looks for books that emphasize human relations, represent a diversity of groups and are sensitive to a broad range of cultural experiences, present an original theme or a fresh slant on a traditional topic, are easily readable and of high literary quality, and have a pleasing format and, when appropriate, illustrations that enrich the text."
