Public Relations: Host Student Organization Event at the Library

Public Relations

Host an Event at the Library

Student organizations can host events at University Library with prior approval. University Library offers a variety of spaces, from conference rooms, to open spaces with projectors. To reserve a space for your student org event, contact Tanya Gunkel gunkelta@uwstout.edu. Include your name and email address, the name of your organization, the name and a brief description of the event, and the proposed date and time.

Does your group want to reserve the Gaming and Digital Innovation Lab? Contact Cory Mitchell mitchellc@uwstout.edu.

Smaller study rooms are also available for reservation. To view the study rooms available for reservation, visit the Study Room Reservation calendar.

University Library provides access to its conference rooms and classrooms when not in use by staff. For conference room or classroom reservations, contact Sue Lindahl.

Staff and Student Organization Marketing Assistance

Public Relations Committee can provide some tools to help your Student Organization market your event. We can:

  • Provide information on where to market library events
  • Post to University Library social media. Your organization is expected to provide marketing content and pictures. We recommend you review the "Accessibility in PR" section of this guide. All materials will require approval by the PR Committee Chair: Tanya Gunkel.
  • Include your event in Check This Out (monthly library newsletter), library lobby slides and posters. Contact Tanya with requests.
  • Circulation students: Contact Circulation supervisor with requests. Can help with simple signage, displays and more, depending on skill set of students
